How to get Global Entry and TSA PreCheck for free

Updated: Jul 21, 2021

Let's face it, waiting in line at security stinks and every time you're in that line you envy the first-class and business travelers who breeze by you in the priority lane. This is where Global Entry (GE) and TSA can save you time and stress, and best of all, it lasts 5 years. That's 5 years of hassle-free airport travel, sign me up!

According to the official TSA website, here are the differences between TSA & GE:

TSA Pre✓® provides expedited security screening benefits for flights departing from U.S. Airports. Global Entry provides the TSA Pre✓® benefit plus expedited US customs screening for international air travelers when entering the United States. TSA Pre✓® costs $85 and Global Entry costs $100 for a five year membership. Travelers interested in Global Entry must apply through the Trusted Traveler Program website.¹

While the $100 and $85 fees may be out of your budget, by signing up for the credit cards listed below, you can get the fee totally waived! I was able to signup for Global Entry with my United Mileage Plus Explorer card, and my days waiting in long security lines are now well behind me.

Whether you are an occasional or frequent traveler, saving time while traveling allows you to optimize your time at the airport or maybe spend more time at the lounge.

TSA application waivers are just one of the many benefits that these cards offer, scroll below to see a list of credit cards that offer a Global Entry and/or a TSA PreCheck waiver and start saving on travel today!
